As your health partner, LVHN is committed to making it convenient for you to access the services you and your loved ones need.

  • More care in Carbon County – To meet the community’s needs, Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Carbon added a new seven-bed intensive care unit (ICU) and four more medical-surgical beds. Other new services offered on campus include cardiac rehabilitation, outpatient lab services, a DEXA scan machine to diagnose osteoporosis, pulmonary function testing, 3D mammography and the latest breast cancer screening technology.
  • Critical care capability in Lackawanna County – More access to critical care close to home was made available at LVH–Dickson City when a new seven-bed ICU opened in June. Nine new medical-surgical beds also opened on the newly renovated fourth floor.
  • Specialized trauma care – LVH–Schuylkill is now a Level IV Trauma Center. This means people who suffer a traumatic injury have access to a dedicated team of emergency specialists at LVH–Schuylkill as well as pre-hospital first responders, the LVHN–MedEvac flight team, and the resources of partners at LVH–Cedar Crest, which is accredited as a Level I Adult and Level II Pediatric Trauma Center.
  • Addressing a community need – Regionally, the need for behavioral health care services is far outpacing capacity. LVHN and Universal Health Services, one of the nation’s leading providers of behavioral health care, are partnering to create a new 144-bed behavioral health hospital across from LVH–Muhlenberg. Ground will be broken in spring 2024. The joint-venture facility will nearly triple the number of inpatient beds available in the Lehigh Valley.
  • Neighborhood care – The new Health Center at Macungie provides services for the entire family, including Children’s ExpressCARE, pediatrics, family medicine, orthopedic and sports medicine, cardiology, rehabilitation, and cardiac and vascular diagnostic testing. Located on the same campus, LVH–Macungie is set to open in spring 2024. It will be a licensed, accredited, acute care, state-of-the-art neighborhood hospital open 24/7 year-round with an 11-bay emergency room. Another neighborhood hospital, LVH–Gilbertsville, as well as the Health Center at Gilbertsville will open in the summer of 2024.
  • Leader in COVID-19 and flu care – To keep you safe, you can now get vaccinated for COVID-19 conveniently in LVPG practices and ExpressCARE locations. LVHN also administered nearly 12,000 vaccinations during convenient drive-thru and walk-in flu shot clinics in Allentown, Easton, Hazleton, Lehighton and Tobyhanna. More than 7,300 pounds of food donations were collected at the clinics for area food banks.
  • More available appointments – Thousands more LVHN appointments are now available to you, especially online. This year, you made more than 310,000 appointments online. That’s 32 percent more than the previous year. If you need a physician, you can find the one who is perfect for you on the Find a Doctor section of LVHN.org. While you’re there, you can schedule an appointment. Appointments also can be made on our patient portal, MyLVHN, which has surpassed 1 million active accounts.
