Michael Marte, MD

Dr. Marte is a medical oncologist and the Medical Director of the Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center. He comes to us from the San Antonio Military Medical Center where he served on the hematology/oncology staff. Prior to this position, he was Chief of Hematology/Oncology at the William Beaumont Army Medical Center. Board certified in internal medicine, hematology and oncology, Dr. Marte has been involved in the training of interns, residents, fellows and nursing staff and served as a principal investigator for research protocols. He received his medical degree from Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York and completed both an internal medicine residency and his fellowship in hematology/oncology at the Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

William F. Ryan, MD

Dr. Ryan is a highly credentialed physician, specializing in hematology and oncology, the prevention, diagnosis and treatment of diseases related to blood, bone marrow and cancer. Working as part of the Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center, he provides a full range of cancer prevention and treatment services. Advanced technology and approaches are used to avoid disease and treat patients as effectively as possible. Through his affiliation with the Jefferson Kimmel Cancer Center Network of Thomas Jefferson University, cancer clinical care trials are available when appropriate. Quality of care, comfort and optimal outcomes for patients and families are the highest priority.

Dr. Ryan has Board certifications in internal medicine, hematology and oncology. His advanced education and training in the prevention and treatment of cancer enable the doctors and their professional team to provide patients the highest level of care and best prospect for the future. Dr. Ryan received his medical degree from the State University of New York at Downstate Medical Center College of Medicine. He completed his medical oncology/hematology fellowship at Rhode Island Hospital, which is affiliated with the Brown University Program of Medicine. He is Board certified in internal medicine and medical oncology and a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.

Sonyo Shin, MD

Dr. Shin is a medical oncologist practicing at the Dale & Frances Hughes Cancer Center. She earned her medical degree at Ewha Woman’s University, School of Medicine in Seoul, Korea. She completed both an internal medicine internship and a residency at Lincoln Medical Center in the Bronx, New York. Dr. Shin then did a fellowship in medical oncology at East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, Tennessee. 

Board-certified in medical oncology and internal medicine, Dr. Shin has been involved in cancer research at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York City and MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston. She is a member of the American Society of Clinical Oncology.
