Eric Wilson, MD, FACS

Dr. Wilson is a member of the Lehigh Valley Hospital (LVH)–Pocono Board of Directors and a vascular surgeon with Lehigh Valley Heart and Vascular Institute. He is the newly elected Chair of the Executive Medical Leadership Committee (EMLC) at LVH–Pocono. Dr. Wilson served on the EMLC as an at-large member and prior to that as a member of the Medical Executive Committee of Pocono Medical Center as the Chair of the Department of Surgery. He has been providing vascular and endovascular surgery to patient's at Pocono since 2011. Before joining Pocono Medical Center, Dr. Wilson was the Chief of Vascular Surgery for Lehigh Valley Health Network as a partner in Peripheral Vascular Surgeons.

As a surgeon, Dr. Wilson has participated in bringing several technologically advanced techniques to the region including carotid stenting and endovascular thoracic stent grafting, and has been an investigator in numerous FDA-sponsored device trials. Having participated in resident and medical student education for more than 20 years, he currently holds a faculty position with the University of South Florida Health Morsani College of Medicine.

Dr. Wilson is a Pennsylvania native and graduate of Albright College with a degree in biology. He completed medical school at St. George's University School of Medicine and following an internship in internal medicine, concluded his five-year surgical residency as a Chief Resident at Hahnemann University Hospital. Following residency, he completed two years of specialty fellowship at Harbor/UCLA Medical Center, including a research year focused on endovascular aneurysm repair. He is board-certified in both general surgery and vascular surgery. Dr. Wilson currently lives in the Lehigh Valley with his wife April L. Wilson.
