NEWS RELEASE
Paulette Nish Names New Nursing Administrators

Paulette Nish, Vice President of Patient Care Services and Chief Nursing Officer, recently announced the appointments of Thomas Gaylets, RN, BSN, and Patricia Casals, RN, MSN.  Gaylets has been appointed Critical Care Administrator and Casals has become the Med-Surg Administrator.

In Gaylets’ new role, he will oversee fifteen patient care areas, including the Cardiovascular Care Unit, Cardiovascular/EP Lab, the Intensive Care Unit, the Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit, the Cardiology and Respiratory departments, and the Dialysis Unit.  Gaylets is currently enrolled in a Master’s program at King’s College, where he is studying Healthcare Administration.  He joined Pocono Medical Center in 2005 as manager of the Cardiovascular Lab.  Gaylets lives in Kingston with his wife and daughter, and his son resides in Carbondale.

Patricia Casals will now oversee the three medical-surgical departments, Behavioral Health, the Emergency Department, and the Nurse Family Partnership.  She is currently enrolled at King’s College, where she is pursuing a Master’s degree in Healthcare Administration.  Casals joined Pocono Medical Center in 2006, after working in Salisbury, Maryland.  She previously served as PMC’s manager of the Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit.  Casals was born and raised in Gloucester County, New Jersey and lives in Pocono Lake with her husband, Michael.

Nish noted that both Gaylets and Casals bring their years of experience as well as their passion for patient care to their new positions.  “Both Tom and Patricia’s sincere dedication to patient care, our staff, and our Health System will serve our region well,” says Nish.
