Pocono Medical Center Physician Contributes to Medical Textbook

Charles K. Herman, M.D., Medical Director of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery at Pocono Medical Center, has been selected as a contributing author to a landmark textbook in the field of plastic surgery.  "Grabb's Encyclopedia of Flaps, 3rd Edition," which will be published later this year, is one of the most important textbooks in plastic surgery, and is used as a reference throughout the world.  The second edition was a comprehensive 1,922-page text that described virtually every reconstructive option available in plastic surgery.  Contributing authors to this reference text are recognized as being among the best in the field of plastic surgery.

“Dr. Herman has been a great asset to Pocono Medical Center,” says Richard Henley, President and CEO.  “He is a leader in his field, and is an example of the type of physician we are bringing to this community.”

Dr. Herman has also published several other textbook chapters and journal articles recently, including ones on breast reduction and lift surgery, body contouring after weight loss, and microsurgical nerve reconstruction.  His expertise is in cosmetic surgery, reconstructive surgery of the breast and face, and microsurgery.  Dr. Herman also holds a professorship at Albert Einstein College of Medicine in New York City.
