Pocono Medical Center provides emergency and medically necessary health care services to all patients regardless of their insurance status or ability to pay. In no event shall any person be denied medically necessary care. However, as a condition of receiving medically necessary care, patients may be required to complete an Application for Financial Assistance and otherwise comply with the steps described below after treatment.

Upon request patients unable to pay their Pocono Medical Center bills may request an application for the Financial Assistance Program. In order to qualify for the Financial Assistance program the patient must receive a valid denial from Medicaid. Once a patient qualifies for the Financial Assistance program, they will not be responsible for more than the amount generally billed for emergency or other medically necessary inpatient and outpatient hospital services, including emergency room services and hospital services provided at the Medical Center's satellite clinics.

The program is based on income and family size and uses Federal Poverty Guidelines which are updated yearly.
