Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome (SARS)
Many concerns have become evident by the world community as to what SARS is, how it is spread, who is affected and what effects this condition has on public health. In an attempt to answer some of these questions, the CDC has a Frequently Asked Questions site that can be accessed via this web address: http://www.cdc.gov/ncidod/sars/faq.htm
By the CDC's current definition, no cases have been known to be transmitted in an outbreak fashion on U.S. soil. There have been cases linked to individuals whom have had contact with cases of SARS from mainland China, Hong Kong, Hanoi, Vietnam and Singapore. Canada has reported an outbreak as well.
